Floating Center Caps

Floating center caps use magnetic levitation technology to keep your car badge perfectly upright while the wheel rotates. A weighted counterbalance inside the cap works against the spin of the wheel, so the logo always faces forward at every speed — from a slow crawl to motorway driving.

On our LED versions, a built-in kinetic generator harvests energy from the spinning wheel. Once you reach 25 km/h, the generator produces enough power to illuminate the LED ring around the cap — no batteries, no wiring, no charging required. The LED stays on while you drive and switches off automatically when stationary.

Our caps are designed to press-fit directly onto OEM (factory) alloy rims — no drilling or adapters needed. Fitment depends on the diameter of your existing center cap recess, not your wheel size or tyre profile.

Common sizes we stock: 54mm, 56mm, 60mm, 61mm, 62mm,63mm, 68mm and 69mm. Each brand page lists the exact size and compatible models. To find your size, remove your current center cap and measure the diameter of the hole it sits in, or check your car’s service manual.

Yes. Both standard floating caps and LED floating center caps are road legal and MOT compliant in the UK. The LED version is self-powered by the wheel’s rotation — it requires no connection to the vehicle’s electrical system, so there are no wiring modifications and nothing that affects your MOT.

The caps are approved for use at speeds up to 135 km/h and are built to withstand all UK road and weather conditions.

Standard floating caps use the magnetic levitation mechanism to keep the badge upright at all times. The cap looks identical to a factory center cap when stationary or driving — the only difference is the emblem stays perfectly level rather than spinning with the wheel.

LED floating center caps include everything above, plus a kinetic LED ring that activates automatically once you reach 25 km/h. The ring illuminates in your chosen colour and charges itself from the wheel’s rotation — no batteries or external power needed. When you slow below 25 km/h, the LED fades out.

Both versions are available for most brands in our range. LED versions are typically £20–£40 more than standard caps of the same brand.

Installation takes around 5 minutes per wheel and requires no tools for most cars:

1. With the car stationary and the handbrake on, use a flat-head screwdriver wrapped in cloth (to avoid scratching) to gently prise out your existing center cap.
2. Clean the center recess with a dry cloth to remove any dust or debris.
3. Align the floating center cap with the recess and press firmly until it clicks into place. The weighted mechanism inside orientates the badge automatically.
4. Repeat for all four wheels.

No wiring is required for either version. For LED caps, the kinetic generator activates the moment the wheel begins spinning — no setup needed.

If a cap arrives with a manufacturing defect or the LED fails within the first year, it’s covered by our 1-year guarantee and we’ll send a free replacement.
